Facebook’s Gun Sale Ban Includes Paintball & Airsoft Guns

At the end of January Facebook announced that Facebook and Instagram users will no longer to use the social media networks to privately sell, buy or trade firearms, gun parts or ammunition. According to Facebook’s Community Standards this also includes: BB Guns, Airsoft Guns, Paintball Markers, Air Guns, Replicas & Non-functioning firearms.

An article by the Inquisitr claims that an administrator of a Facebook Group called “Buy Sell Trade Airsoft Gear and Guns” had his Facebook Group banned. The email from Facebook reportedly stated: “The group… has been removed because it violated our Terms of Use. Among other things, groups that are hateful, threatening, or obscene are not allowed. We also take down groups that attack an individual or group, or advertise a product or service.” We could not find any other sources that confirmed that Facebook called the group “hateful or threatening” but we do know, if you having a group selling Airsoft or Paintball Guns on Facebook, it is most likely going to be removed.
