Auto Insurance: The least & most expensive 2016 vehicles to insure


If you are in the market for a brand new car you might want to take a look at Property Casualty 360’s list of 2016 model auto insurance rates. They made up a list of both the top 10 least expensive models to insure & the top 10 most expensive autos to insure. The Insurance Information Institute says that car insurance rates vary based on the cost of the car, the safety record of the vehicle & also things such as how likely the vehicle is to be stolen. The average annual policy in the country for the Honda Odyssey costs an average of $1,113; it would cost the same driver $651 in Maine and a whopping $2,387 in Michigan, according to” (Property Casualty 360)

7. Ford Escape S 2WD  – Average annual premium: $1,194
6. Jeep Compass Sport 2WD – Average annual premium: $1,190
5. Jeep Wrangler Sport 4WD – Average annual premium: $1,181
4. Jeep Patriot Sport 2WD – Average annual premium: $1,180
3. Dodge Grand Caravan AVP 2WD – Average annual premium: $1,174
2. Honda CR-V LX – Average annual premium: $1,170
1. Honda Odyssey LX — Average annual premium: $1,113

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I was looking into getting a new vehicle this year, so having a list like this definitely helps. I wasn’t anticipating getting a vehicle that would be in the “Most Expensive” list, but knowing what makes and models are on the list helps give me a bit more peace of mind.
