Insurance 203:What business name do you put on an application for insurance?
When you apply for insurance you would want to hopefully have an LLC or corporation in place so you are not held liable personally. If you have not done so you would probably have the application marked as sole proprietor and your app would have your name dba (does business as) the business name (do not copy what I just wrote). The most expensive bounce house, LLC (or Inc.) You would also want to add ALL website domain names that you would use AND any abbreviations of your business name. Such as THEBH, LLC for the example above. If your website is www.themostexpensivebouncehouse.com you would list this as it is a business name. Now if you had another website that was maybe www.thecheapestbouncehouse.com also you would list this as a dba also.

Many sports pose the risk of eye injuries; some have a higher risk than others. According to “The National Eye Institute”, baseball is considered a high risk for eye injury and has the leading number of sports-related eye injuries. Although sports such as baseball & basketball have the highest risk, a recent study has found that Paintball actually poses the greatest risk of vision loss associated with the injury.
The reason that Paintball/Airsoft has the highest risk of vision loss is because, while large balls such as baseballs may fracture bones, smaller balls (like a paintballs) can injure or rupture the eyeball itself. So what can be done to lower the amount vision loss injuries in Paintball? Eye Protection…our insurance program requires full face & ear protection for Paintball and Airsoft. So why full face & ear when we are talking about eye injuries hear? Ear injuries are actually said to be the next common type of Paintball injury after eyes. Ear injuries can result in hearing loss, concussion or even a ruptured ear drum. This is true for Airsoft as well, ever had a BB in the ear? Not pleasant. Bottom line is, injuries from any sport can be potentially serious. Be sure to use the recommended safety equipment every time.

The Southern East Coast is bracing for Hurricane Matthew, which is predicted to be the strongest hurricane to hit the US Coast line in over a decade. The Governor of South Carolina declared for a state of emergency & possible evacuations as Matthew inches closer. Do you know what to do in the event of a strong hurricane hitting where you live or do business?
The National Weather Service has many resources to help you prepare for a hurricane. The first thing the NWS suggests is to know if your area has an evacuation center & know where it is before the storm hits. You should also have a list of everything you will need if you need to evacuate. This is not the time to take all your belongings with you, you must plan to take only the essentials. Including clean clothes, cash, credit cards, bottled water, and a basic first aid supply kit.
Keep an eye on weather forecasts, hurricanes can be very unpredictable. Also make sure that your homeowners & business insurance provides for hurricane & flood damage…this is not something you want to find out after the fact.

A trampoline park in the UK made headlines on Tuesday after a manager told a triple amputee teenager that she needed to leave the trampoline park because of her disability. Ellie had to have both her legs, her right arm and three fingers amputated at the age of five after being hospitalized with meningitis. She has won awards for trampolining & is an active horse back rider.
According to the news reports Ellie had been jumping in the trampoline park for about an hour when I manager approached her and started shouting at her in front of everyone that “if I have no feet, I cannot bounce”. The manager told her that she would be likely to injure others and that she could not be in control of her jumping.
The trampoline park issued a statement apologizing for the incident, but also commenting that the manager was concerned that the teenager was in a free running area that was for advanced users. They also said that they would like to offer free sessions to her and her family…though I doubt her family will return.

An Escape HOTEL just opened up in Hollywood. The hotel hosts 10 games at one time, making it the largest Escape Room Game in the United States. The new hotel makes the game an experience right from the start. While most Escape Rooms have the players sit in a room while they sign waivers & go over the rules, the new hotel checks in the guests just like an actual hotel. All of the employees stay in character at all times & are dressed up in fancy suits.
The Escape Hotel has games such as daycare, witchcraft, zombies, agent, mafia. While an escape room named daycare might not sound very exciting, it actually looks pretty creepy. It will soon be opening a pirate, circus, slaughter, heist & kidnapping room. With more & more Escape Room Games popping up all over the country it is becoming increasingly important to make sure your escape room is unique. What will you do to make your Escape Room Games stand out above the rest?
