What should my FPS limit be?
The absolute maximum is 300 fps. We recommend 285 fps.

What is the recommended minimum engagement distance?
20 feet. The exception to this rule is if you have at least 2 referees per 15 players on the field. This rule also does not apply to speedball play.

What height does my netting need to be?
We require 20 foot netting for any field that is within 300 feet of a safe zone (staging area, parking lot, spectator area). 12 foot netting is not tall enough to keep shots from going over the top, especially speedball. Obviously 20’ is way more expensive than 12’ netting, but you should never underspend on your safety equipment in an effort to keep your costs down. You do not need to have 20’ netting around every field, just on the sides where people do not have goggles on. You can use 12’ or even 10’ netting to divide your fields, just not to protect your safe zones.

Where do I need to have my safety signs?
• At the minimum you should have a “Goggles on!” sign at the entrance of every field and a “Barrel Blockers On” sign at the exit of every field. • You should also have a “No Shooting” sign in the staging area as well as your parking lot. • Have a speed limit sign in your parking lot and along your driveway. • Have signs along the outside of your netting indicating “Stay Back 5 Feet From Netting”

Am I covered if I have an event at a location other than my own?
You can be. A standard policy will cover your premises only, however, you can purchase off-premise event coverage either on a per event basis or on a blanket (unlimited) basis.

What is the minimum age requirement?
There is NO age limit! It is totally up to you to determine if the child is old enough to play.

Do the participants need to fill out a waiver every time they play?
They SHOULD, but you can use the same waiver for a calendar year provided you list on the waiver that it is “good for multiple uses between [Date] and [Date.]” Make it easy on yourself and make it January 1st!

Someone wants to be added as an additional insured for an event they are hosting at my location, is there an additional premium for this?
If the event is at YOUR location, there is no additional premium. If the person wants specific wording listed on the certificate of insurance, then the underwriters may charge a little extra.

Does my general liability policy cover my equipment in the event of a loss (i.e theft, fire, vandalism)?
No. That coverage is provided under a property insurance policy (or inland marine policy for mobile operators).

What coverages do I need?
Payments
Netting
Safety Signs
Age
Waivers
